RED STAR MINIATURES AT SALUTE 2011

Red Star Miniatures will not be present at Salute 2011 with a trader stand, but the entirety of our range will be represented by Empress Miniatures at the stand TA28.

We will be at Salute but with our wargaming club "Les Chemins de Feu" and a participation game entitled "Rescue in Grozny" at the GA27 stand. The game will see all our miniatures in action in a story about a Russian armoured column trying to force his way through Grozny streets in Chechnya to rescue some Hostages.

For those interested, we can take preorder via email for the HLBS range of Russian vehicles and deliver them to you at Salute.

Due to some delay in the production process, our next batch of figures will only be available around May/June. It will consist of a pack of 4 dismounted Russian vehicles crew (one of them in preview below) and of a pack of 6 mounted Russian vehicles crew (2 full figures, 2 waist figures and 2 shoulder figures).

We sincerely hope to meet you at Salute 2011, to have a chat and perhaps play together.

HAPPY FIRST ANNIVERSARY TO RED STAR MINIATURES AND RELEASE OF OUR NEW FIGURES

After a very good show premiere at Crisis in Antwerp last week-end, and one year after our first figures release, we are very proud to offer you our last batch of figures. They came in the form of 8 Russians fighters and 8 Chechens fighters masterfully sculpted by Tony Boustead, who is also the author of the magnificent modern range of figures from Empress Miniatures. Each figure is sculpted in exquisite details and full of life. The real action rendering is perfect, as you can see from the example below, and we really have to thanks Tony for such a work. We hope that you will like them as much as we do and continue to support our project and future releases by buying our figures and playing with them.

NEW FIGURES AND NEW SCULPTOR

We are very happy to announce the collaboration of a new sculptor to our 28mm project. Indeed, the very talented and well know sculptor Tony Boustead is the father of our next batch of figures, 8 Russians and 8 Chechens. The sculpting style of Tony is different from the one of Sergeï, but we think sufficiently similar, also in size, that it will be no problem to mix the figures. All the 16 figures are now sculpted and they are really astounding, full of life and precise details. They will now go to the casting and we really hope to get them to you in time for the Crisis show in Antwerp on November 6th.

They are there ! The fantastic line of Russian vehicles made to high quality standard by HLBS are now available directly from our e-Shop page. These are truly exceptional models made directly for the wargamers. They are very easy to build and just ask for a nice paint job. Be advised that our post free offer for the month of July do not extend to the vehicles. This offer is just for our figures.

06 May 2010

Finally some news. We have been very busy during and after Salute and I (Christian) had had a stupid accident just after that, broking my right hand. If my wife can help me to cut my steak, she unfortunately can not help me with the photos of the new figures and the updating of our site. Anyway, here I am, better and better with my left hand :-) First of all, we would like to thanks all the peoples that came to see us at Salute. Thanks for your kind support and your purchase. The sales were good and we had a lot of interesting chats. The 4 packs of Chechens are now fully available on our e-shop and the problem we had with the hand of one figure at Salute is also resolved. We hope you will like them and buy a lot of them ;-)

We also had a lot of success at Salute with the HLBS Russian vehicles range and so, you will be able to order them from our e-shop very soon.

HLBS BMP1 with Mongrel Miniatures figures

We have more figures in preparation for the second half of this year. Due to your demands, it will be more Russians and Chechens, 2 packs for each, but essentially running and firing figures. The Russians will have the MVD infamous Sphera type helmet. The previously announced vehicles crew and passengers will come after that.

Continue to give us your comments and support, and send us more of your painted figures.

20 April 2010

Our problems resolved, we are happy to confirm the arrival of our first 4 packs of Chechens for Salute on April 24th. For peoples who want to get them there, we strongly recommend to pre-order on our Web site Shop. It will be much more easy for us this way with all the money conversion problems and so on... Just say in your order that you want to take delivery at our Salute stand (stand nr. TA26 in the uppermost left corner of the hall, next to Empress Miniatures). We will also sell in exclusivity at Salute the fantastic vehicles from HLBS (http://www.hlbs.co.uk/range.php?id=3). Do not hesitate and come to say hello. You can also visit the participation game of our wargaming club "Les Chemins de Feu" entitled "Red Hawk down" just in front of our stand. For peoples not coming to Salute, pre-ordering is also open this week with delivery beginning next week. We hope that you will like our second release as much as the first.

19 March 2010

Unfortunately we have only bad news at the moment. Due to major sculpting problems, our entire forthcoming Chechen's release has been postponed. We are actually working with our sculptor, Menelay, to resolve all the problem as soon as possible. At the moment, we still hope to get the 4 Chechen's packs (16 figures) out for Salute 2010 in London on April 24. We will have a stand there (nbr TA26) and a participation game with our wargaming club "Les Chemins de Feu" (nbr GA24). We sincerely apologise for this delay to all the customers who have supported us from the first day of our project, and we hope that all will be back on track soon.

25 January 2010

Last part of our forthcoming first Chechen release.

08 January 2010

12 December 2009

We have finally found the time to paint some of our figures. You can find them on our Gallery page. We are not the best painter but we are happy with them. If you have photos of your painted figures, do not hesitate to send them to redstarminiatures@gmail.com, we will certainly put them on our Gallery page.

27 November 2009

Finally some pictures of our first trade stand ever at Crisis 2009 in Antwerp on 7 November. A success thanks to you all. Thanks to the organisers for their support, and to all the peoples who gave us cheerful and supportive comments and bought our figures.

16 November 2009

A size comparison of 6 different brands of 28 mm modern miniatures are now available on our Gallery page. We hope that it will help you in your choice.

6 November 2009

That’s it, the first figurines are available in the Shop!  In order to respect as much as possible the realism and the detail of the sculpts we opted to design the weapons separately for some of the figurines. That means that you will have to glue them in place. We hope that the available pictures on the site will provide sufficient information to assemble the figurines without too many problems. If you feel you have not enough information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We are aware that some people do not like to do this so the question remains open for future releases. Or we ‘persist’ and we will then probably follow the option of separate arms+weapons (that will give us some more leeway). Or we come back to a less fine sculpt, where the space between arms/weapons and body are smaller or artificially filled. It will mainly depend on your reactions and comments how we will proceed in the future. In the mean time we wish you lots of pleasure with our first models.

2 November 2009

Being longstanding “fans” of the Red Army/Russian Army look and history, our first foray in modern conflicts will cover the Chechen Wars. These long and complicated conflicts offer the wargamer an endless list of scenario’s, urban or not, a vast choice of troops, regular or not, all with lots of character and an endless stream of material from the huge depots of the defunct Soviet Union. Following our first packs of Russian infantry (3 packs of 4 and a heavy weapons pack), we will try to quickly have the first Chechen fighters out (4 packs of 4). Then, if all goes well, more Russians with, in particular, vehicle crews and infantry riders in the typical Russian style.
